Gaston Has Heart is very proud to present, “Sharing Our Stories: An LGBTQ Awareness and Education Event”, Saturday, March 28th at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Gastonia.
The day will consist of three wonderful keynote speakers, Joshua Burford; The Dr. Rev. Gary Butterworth; and Matthew Morrell Comer. Also, we will offer ten educational workshops, on a wide-variety of topics related to the LGBTQ Community, over the span of three concurrent sessions. In addition, we will host Dr. Janaka Lewis. She will present a book/author talk on her children’s book, BROWN ALL OVER. Finally, we will hold a “round table” discussion on collaboration in the Community. Snacks and lunch will be provided.
We are very excited to offer this event to the Gaston County residents (and beyond).
The event is free to the public.
“Sharing Our Stories” is appropriate for anyone in the LGBTQ Community, its allies and advocates, educators, those in the human services field, parents, families, friends, members of the faith community and many more.
We look forward to sharing our stories!
