2012 Pride Super Bowl Party

Catawba Valley Pride’s 2012 Super Bowl Party and Chili Competition was a great success.
The crowd of spectators enjoyed the game, the half-time show, the commercials and the entertainment of Miss & Mr. Catawba Valley Pride 2011, Connie Conover & Levi Davidson.

Everyone sampled from the 7 pots of chili entered in the competition.

The night was capped off with a prize balloon drop. Over $300 in prizes was awarded thanks to donations from wonderful event sponsors. A Pride Comment and Donation Box was introduced. The box will be present at all CVPride events through the year to collect comments and donations. The box is unlocked only at monthly Board Meetings.



Christopher Vance was the unanimous victor in the chili competition winning the top choice of the Judges Panel, CVPride Board, and the Audience.

Wednesday, Sep 28


• Colonial Lanes Bowling Party 8pm-10pm
  
  
  FREE BOWLING Party at AMF Colonial Lanes, Hwy 70 in Hickory across from Valley Hills Mall. Two hours of free bowling including shoes.
  
  Colonial Lanes’ goal is to create an LGBTQ Bowling League. Come play for free and, if you wish, sign up to start a league by the 2nd week of October.




Wonderful turnout of more than 50 Proud bowlers at the AMF Colonial Lanes Bowling Party. Lots of fun and laughter was had by all. An LGBT League is being formed and several teams are on board. The competition starts in a few weeks.

• 7pm Pot Luck Supper at Club Cabaret – hosted by Carolina Bear Lodge Hickory Den and East Coast Leather Bound
  
  Bring a covered dish or $5 donation to Pride to join the 2011 Celebration kickoff. Free Pool, Karaoke and show.




• ALFA will be offering free HIV testing this night at the club.
  
  Getting tested for HIV is quick, easy, free, and confidential. ALFA tests for HIV using the Uni-Gold Recombigen® HIV test. Uni-Gold® is a finger stick test that involves a small drop of blood with results provided within 10 minutes. The Uni-Gold Recombigen® HIV test is 99.7% accurate.

Wow! Over 60 people at Thursday’s Carolina Bear Lodge/East Coast Leather Bound Pot Luck event. Lots of great food and friendship followed by a night of talent. Thank you to the ALFA crew that hustled the long line of people getting tested for HIV. Everyone, please do yourself a favor and contact ALFA for a free confidential test.
